Wasps Making Nests All Over Your Home? What You Should Do

About Me
Keeping My House Cleaner

After experiencing a wretched spider infestation, my pest control professional told me something that I would never forget. In the nicest possible way, she told me that my house was too messy to keep bugs out in the first place. She explained that when people leave food around, it attracts small pests like ants and cockroaches, which then attract larger predators like spiders and mice. I decided to clean up my place so that I wouldn't have to worry about creepy crawlies calling my place home. On my blog, you will learn more about pest control and the importance of house cleaning, so that you don't make the same mistake I did.

Wasps Making Nests All Over Your Home? What You Should Do

Wasps create these very small nests that can grow very large if you allow them to continue to nest near your home. They begin as a small fibrous cell in which to lay their larvae, then it grows into many more cells, and before you know it, you have an entire colony of wasps all around your home, doing what they feel they need to do to protect their nest and their larvae. These intruders can be a major nuisance for you, and they can sting when they feel they need to. These pests will sting over and over again without dying, unlike bees, which will sting and then die right away. These pests will sting you over and over again, and the venom they carry could kill a person if you are stung enough. You need to get rid of these pests and remove them from your home and your property if you can. Hiring a pest control expert is something you should do, but you can attempt to get rid of them yourself if you don't feel too threatened by these pests. Read on for some tips to help you.

Spray From Far Away

Don't attempt to knock down the nest, you need to spray it with a pesticide spray to soak the nest and allow the pesticides to work their magic on the nest and the pests still inside. Spraying at night when the wasps are less active and more than likely in the nest is the best time to do this. Spray the nest very far enough away that you can run away if necessary. Spray the pesticide spray on the nest to soak it, or just empty the entire can of spray onto the nest if you have to. Eventually, the nest will come down on its own.

Kill Any Remaining Pests

Kill any pests that remain on the ground. You can use more spray on the pests, or if you don't feel threatened by these pests any longer, you can squish them with your shoe. Kill any more living wasps that you can see. Once the nest dries out, and you don't see any activity in the nest, you can discard the nest entirely.

If you have an issue with wasps, don't attempt to remove the nest unless you have sprayed it with a pesticide to kill the wasps inside. Removing the nest without killing the wasps only allows them to rebuild their nest elsewhere around your home. Hire a pest control company to help you with the task of killing these pests and getting rid of them.
